Institute of Asian Research (IAR) faculty are published frequently and widely. The Institute also manages two highly respected publications that accept submissions on Asia-related topics from IAR faculty, students, and external contributors.
Launched in 1928, Pacific Affairs is a peer-reviewed academic journal that focuses on pressing political, economic, and social issues throughout Asia and the Pacific. Published quarterly in print and online, this interdisciplinary publication typically contains five articles and up to 45 book reviews in each issue.
Asia Pacific Memo
Launched in 2010, Asia Pacific Memo is a weekly e-publication on current issues in Asia and the Pacific. Each edition features a 350-word essay or video interview on a compelling topic that is based in academic research. The goal? To make this scholarly knowledge accessible to new audiences.
