The Institute of Asian Research (IAR), housed within the UBC School of Public Policy and Global Affairs, is the focal point on Asia policy and current affairs at UBC. The Institute seeks to build knowledge that supports a deep understanding and effective action in addressing a wide range of domestic, regional, and global problems centered on Asia. IAR advances this mission through its research, teaching (Asia oriented policy degree), network-building, community interaction, and policy engagement initiatives.

The IAR Events Assistant through its events and general administrative support role is instrumental in enabling the Institute’s administrative team to provide enhanced, prompt and adequate service and support to UBC students, staff, faculty, researchers, visitors and the expanded global community.
